D.B. Cheng has always had a love for the arts and a passion for
being creative - from drawing to playing the guitar and singing
to filmmaking. With a love for filmmaking, D.B. has worked on
action, comedy, and special effects projects during the past decade.
D.B. has worked on independent feature length and
short films, "Kombat Mortal" in 2003 as an editor and "Chasing
the Dragon" in 2002 as a production assistant. During this time,
he began writing screenplays inspired from his own personal experiences;
"More to Life" (2002) (Romantic Comedy) and "The Wishing Tree"
(2003) (Drama).
In 2004, D.B. formed EM West Productions, a production
company aimed at creating compelling and quality independent films.In
2005, he wrote, produced, directed, and edited his first feature
length film, the romantic comedy "So Beauty" (2006). He has continued
writing additional scripts that he plans to film, such as "Underachievers
- The Champions of Mediocrity" (2006) (Comedy), "Call Me Dragon"
(2007) (Action Comedy), and "The APG's - A True F'N Story" (2007)
(Comedy). His film, "The Red Door" (2008) (Romantic Comedy) has
won the Golden Ace Award at the Las Vegas International Film Festival
and is an official selection for the Big Island Film Festival.
