D.B. Cheng has always had a love for the arts and a passion for being creative - from drawing to playing the guitar and singing to filmmaking. With a love for filmmaking, D.B. has worked on action, comedy, and special effects projects during the past decade.

D.B. has worked on independent feature length, short films, and music videos. D.B. has also worked with the likes of Patricio Ginelsa (Kid Heroes Productions), AJ Calomay (Xylophone Productions), and John Raposas (Director of One Year, Lexationships, Mother).

Since D.B. formed EM West Productions in 2004, D.B. has shot three feature length films, So Beauty (2006), The Red Door (2009)(Golden Ace Award 2009 - Las Vegas Film Festival, Official Selection Big Island Film Festival 2009), has completed two films for the San Jose 48 Hour Film Project (winning Audience Choice, Best Use of Line, Best Use of Character, along with other awards), has shot a music video for Jenn Grinels (voted San Diego's Best Independent Artist 2008), and has recently shot a film with Steve Terada (Quest Crew), Hirano (Quest Crew), and Yuri Tag (Kaba Modern).
